FED:Broadband plan a 'betrayal': Bartlett

Tasmanian Premier DAVID BARTLETT says the coalition's broadband policy is a betrayal
of regional Australia.

Opposition Leader TONY ABBOTT has announced a six-billion dollar broadband plan ..

which includes 2.75-billion dollars to construct an open access national fibre optic backhaul
by 2017.

The plan also relies on at least another 750-million dollars from the private sector.

The coalition says it will sell off the infrastructure already rolled out in Tasmania
under Labor's National Broadband Network .. which Mr BARTLETT says is an abandonment of
regional Australia.

He says Mr ABBOTT will take us back to the technological dark ages .. all in the name
of political pettiness.
